Background

Griffin Park was the home of Brentford Football Club for over 115 years, until the Club relocated to the Gtech Community Stadium in 2020.

Griffin Park is now set to provide new homes while nurturing its community legacy for future generations.

Planning history

The planning permission for 75 homes at Griffin Park was granted in 2015. These homes were not built due to changing market conditions, regulation and policy change. However, the permission was implemented in 2021 through the demolition of Griffin Park football stadium following the completion of the new GTech Community Stadium.

A new masterplan for 149 homes was prepared in 2021, doubling the number of homes while providing a more diverse housing mix to better address local needs, with a larger community park to benefit the existing neighbourhood and future residents. The revised masterplan was developed following extensive consultation with the local community including immediate neighbours, residents’ groups, and local stakeholder groups such as Brentford Bees and Brentford Voice.

Further refinements were made to reflect changes in market conditions, feedback received from the community and further regulation and policy change.

The revised Griffin Park scheme was submitted in October 2024 and received planning approval (with conditions) from the London Borough of Hounslow in September 2025. Both parties are in the progress of agreeing the Section 106 Agreement to enable us to start construction in site later this year.
